Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1979 International Harvester SCOUT recalls can be found in this database. Currently, the finish is shows some aging with a few touched-up chips. It was reported that the interior weatherstrip seal for the removable hard top remains unbroken, which seems to indicate that the top has never been been removed. The OEM blue carpet shows some fading and discoloration in a few areas as expected with the age of the vehicle. This Scout II was optioned with both A/C and cruise control, however both features are currently inoperable.
